“The universe does not guarantee that the language of space shall be English.” Robert Heinlein

Last week China took a huge leap into space, launching their unmanned research laboratory.  “Heavenly Palace”.    The Gobi launch of the first module of a planned space platform comes just as the U.S. has ended their Space Shuttle Program, with little evidence that NASA has any realistic goal for maintaining our edge in space.

A link to a Chinese Animation of their Space Platform can be found here.  The background music was poignantly set to the strains of “America, the Beautiful”.  Perhaps it is intended as a requiem?

I think we Firefly enthusiasts had better brush up on our Gorram Chinese.
